“ Alma Bea’s great food, friendly service and unpretentious atmosphere, won us over. We got the deviled egg appetizer, then goat cheese quiche and shakshuka entrees - all were delicious, perfectly cooked and beautifully prepared. Our server, helped us navigate the menu and gave us honest recommendations. Finally the atmosphere was laid back and unpretentious; soft lighting, exposed beams and lots of wood grain. We’ll be back, for sure. ”
“ Great dinner. Great atmosphere. Friendly service. Angel was our waiter and she was so attentive. We were served a sampler of their stew and it was delicious. The short ribs were excellent. We happened upon this location for dinner while we were sightseeing and. Ian so glad we did. ”
“ I visit Shepherdstown about every month or so, and I've been dying to try this place out. Unfortunately I typically go earlier in the day, and they were only open for dinner. Fortunately they began opening for lunch, so I took advantage of the opportunity and stopped by. I went with the brisket platter, which was served with roasted root vegetables, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and brown butter corn bread. The brisket was the perfect combination of smokey, tender, and juicy, and sliced thinly, which I've never had before but loved! The root vegetables had me wanting more, as they were caramelized and tasted amazing. The coleslaw wasn't overdressed, it was simply perfect - tangy with a hint of spicy. The corn bread was simply amazing! Tasted like something Paula Deen or Martha Stewart herself would make! Buttery, a little sweet, and SO good! The dessert cases made it impossible to leave without first trying something, so we went with the baker's recommendation of the seasonal fruit crisp, one of my favorite desserts. The tangy blend of berries and seasonal fruit were the perfect match to the big chunks of crispy, crunchy, and sweet crisp. Overall it was the perfect grand finale to such an amazing meal. Our server was super friendly, and took the time to answer our questions, recommend items, and chat with us, so we never felt rushed, just complete comfort. There's a nice outdoor area and spacious interior with a large bar. I truly cannot wait to go back and try more menu items. I am so happy to have finally tried them out, and they're certainly one of my new favorites in Shepherdstown! ”

“ The food, the ambiance, price, you can’t beat this. Everything we so good. The prices are reasonable especially for the quality of the food. If I ever go back to WV we are going to eat here for dinner. You need to come here. Their fried chicken is soooooo good. ”

“ An absolute gem tucked into a charming corner of West Virginia! We were visiting Harper’s Ferry and a friend recommended we hop over to Shepherdstown to visit Alma Bea. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. We had cocktails, shared two small plates, a large plate, and a slice of pie. House bread with pimento cheese, fried zucchini blossoms, lamb ribs, rockfish, and chocolate elderberry pie. And we were treated to a taste of their stew. Everything was delicious! ”
“ What a great find! Went there with some girlfriends and loved it. The menu has all sorts of unique foods (purple asparagus, maple syrup cornbread with pimento cheese). All 7 of us loved what we got. Great coffee menu too. I am definitely going back again soon! ”
